20:20 VISION CHURCH EXPANSION APPEAL
In the Newsletter of Summer 2006, a special four page pullout was included to explain the 20:20 Vision Church Expansion Appeal. At that time we had been praying for the future of the Church and particularly the need for more space to facilitate the ongoing work at South Tenerife Christian Fellowship. Funds were being made available towards the Appeal and on 25th October 2007 two locals, adjacent to the existing Church premises were purchased for 180,000 Euros.
With a down payment of 50,000 Euros, the Church obtained a fifteen-year mortgage bank loan of 130,000 Euros. Since that time we have been able to report via 20:20 Vision Update Leaflets and also in the South Tenerife Christian Fellowship’s Newsletters of how God has provided, through the generosity of His people, monies each year to repay amounts off the loan. The first two years of the mortgage were on an interest only repayment basis and from there on as a capital plus interest basis, with the Church being responsible for all these payments. With the designated 20:20 Vision gifts received in September 2008 an additional 40,000 Euros was repaid, then in September 2009 a sum of 50,000 Euros and in September 2010 a further 23,405 Euros. At the end of May 2011 all outstanding monies and interest payments to the bank were paid off in full.
So on behalf of the fellowship we want to thank you all for your prayerful and practical support of the 20:20 Vision Project and the encouragement you have given for this level of financial support for God’s work here at South Tenerife Christian Fellowship.
Above all we give our God all the praise and glory and to record that “He is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).
Whilst this part of the vision that God gave us is now complete, there is much we have to do at South Tenerife Christian Fellowship including looking after what He has provided. Please see the article on the Treasurer’s page regarding the “Renovation Fund”.
